The Apple company presented a new generation of tablets as part of the October event.
But, of course, tablets alone were not enough.
It became known that WatchKit (SDK for developing applications for Apple Watch) – will be available to developers next month. The start of sales of the watches themselves still starts, approximately, at the beginning of 2015.
The opportunity to install iOS 8.1 will appear next Monday. At the same time, iOS 8 already stands, according to Apple, on 48% of all the company’s devices (users who have hurried to do this bite their elbows and miss iOS 7).
As for new products, everything is boring here. I’m not saying it’s bad, just “boring.” If there is no tablet from Apple – the novelty is definitely worth buying, if there is and it is not an iPad 2 – then, most likely, it makes sense to wait at least another year.
Going directly to the subject of the conversation. The new large tablet from Apple is called the iPad Air 2. Its main feature is that it is 18% thinner than the iPad Air. Its thickness is completely frivolous 6.1 mm (I wonder if it will be possible to cut sausage with it?).
In the chest is the A8X processor – a 64-bit processor of the second generation, 3 billion transistors. The CPU of the iPad Air 2 is 12 times cooler than that of the very first iPad, graphically the gadget is 180 times faster than the first iPad, the battery lasts 10 hours.
And he also has TouchID, which “works the same way as on the iPhone.”
The price starts from $499, for the LTE version they are already asking from $ 629 (and today I scolded Google for high prices, in vain).
The new eight-inch tablet from Apple is called the iPad mini 3. The filling, not counting the camera (five against eight megapixels from the older brother), seems to be the same. It will be offered in three color solutions: silver, slate (space gray) and gold.
The price for it starts at $ 399, but if you want to buy an iPad mini 3 with LTE, you will have to pay at least $ 529. But the iPad mini 2 can now be bought for $299. Like most Google gadgets, Apple’s new products will be available starting from October 17. But shipments to stores will begin next week.
By the way, Apple has since introduced a 27-inch iMac with Retina. Its resolution is crazy – 5210 x 2880 pixels. This is seven times more than Full HD and 67% more than 4K. And we have only two questions: why do this? who needs so much?
The iPad Pro, which was rumored before the presentation, was not shown, but it’s a pity. There were also no game consoles.
In general, I’m sad, but what do you think about the event?
