Almost half of the mobile devices activated during the December holidays belong to Apple. The information was shared by the analytical company Flurry.
The time period from December 19 to December 25 was considered, that is, the time when Christmas gifts are given in the USA and Western Europe. Flurry analysts found out that 49.1% of all mobile devices activated during this period use the iOS operating system.
Android devices accounted for 23% of all activated devices.
Of all the activated “apple” devices, smartphones accounted for 65%. Android smartphones accounted for 35% of the total. Phablets were the most popular in the segment of Android devices (50%). For iOS, the share of phablets was 12%, and tablets – 14%.
Flurry experts note that the percentage of activated devices on Apple has decreased compared to the same period last year. In 2014, Apple devices collected 51.3% of the total number of activations.
