As part of a special September event, Apple introduced five new devices. Three smartphones, a set-top box and a watch.

The presentation of the iPhone X (Tim Cook called it the top ten, not the X) turned out to be the central event of the event.

The appearance of the novelty became known long before the announcement due to numerous leaks. The key feature of the device is the screen, which occupies not most of the front side, as is customary, but the whole. When creating it, Apple completely abandoned the central button and Touch ID.

In it, the fingerprint identifier was replaced by a new system – Face ID. With its help, the iPhone X remembers the structure of the user’s face. To activate the device, it is now enough to bring the smartphone screen to your face.

Face ID became possible thanks to the appearance of a new front-facing camera, which Apple called TrueDepth. It creates a map of the user’s face in real time and, more interestingly, allows you to transfer and reproduce his facial expressions on a three-dimensional model.

The price of the device in Russia starts from 79 thousand rubles, the iPhone X will arrive in retail on November 3.

The second most important announcement was the showing of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Unlike dozens, these devices were not called revolutionary and breakthrough. This is an evolutionary development of the series.

We are talking about two gadgets in a design similar to the sixth generation iPhone. One with a 4.7-inch screen, the other with a 5.5-inch screen. The difference that will not confuse new products with old devices is a completely glass case.

The price for the younger model in a bundle starts from 56 thousand rubles. It will be on sale, including in Russia, on the 22nd of this month.

By the way, at the presentation of the eighth generation, Apple paid special attention to augmented reality. Shanghai studio Directive Games from the stage showed a working build of the project, in which the player moves the position of the virtual map, changing the real position of the device in space.

The presentation of Apple TV 4K, which now, as you might guess from the name, supports the appropriate resolution, was mainly interesting with the announcement of the Apple-exclusive Sky game, very similar in gameplay to ABZU from Giant Squid.

It is clear that Cupertino is trying to position its device, including as a playground.

As for the watch, by its third iteration, it has become an iPhone-independent device with support for SIM cards.
