Apple has changed the rules regarding pre-orders in the App Store. Now developers will be able to offer users to download applications 180 days before the release. The company announced this in its blog for developers.
Apple believes that the increased time frame will allow companies to involve people more in their products. On the day of release, pre-ordered users will receive a notification, and the application will be downloaded to the device within 24 hours.
Apple first launched the pre-orders feature in 2017. Before the rules were updated, developers could place applications in the App Store up to 90 days before the release.
