A list of the 52 highest-grossing mobile companies of last year has appeared according to App Annie. The most remarkable thing about it is the update of the top ten, as well as the appearance in the middle of the Epic Games list.
Every year, the analytical company App Annie puts out a “Deck of winners”. This is a list of mobile publishers in whose products for the App Store and Google Play from January 1 to December 31 of the previous year, users left the most money. Only purchases are taken into account (payment for the applications themselves, subscriptions and internal payments).
In the comments to the current top App Annie shares observations mainly on the top ten. In particular, the company notes that Tencent has taken the first place in the chart for the third year in a row. It is also clarified that Playrix, founded in Russia, entered the top ten most earning mobile companies in the world for the first time.
Also, the press release to the top says that of the 52 companies represented, 33 are located in the Asia-Pacific region. Moreover, out of the top ten, the head offices of seven firms are located in Asia. However, this phenomenon in recent years is not an exception, but a rule.
Of the important, but also obvious: for the first time Epic Games got to the top, which introduced the iOS version of Fortnite in March last year. There is no financial data on the Android launch of the game. However, the amount earned by the project from the App Store allowed its developer and publisher to take the 30th place in the chart.
