The analytical company App Annie presented an overview of the world game charts of the App Store and Google Play for March, at the same time answering questions about who was the leader in downloads the month before last, which companies earned the most, and whether there were new trends in the mobile games market.
Leading companies
In the top ten companies-leaders in downloads this time there were no major permutations. There are only two names that you may have never heard before.
Firstly, the Chinese Doodle Mobile, which has such Android projects in its portfolio as “Fast Racing 3D” (more than 50 million downloads), “Jet Ski Racing 3D” (more than 10 million downloads) and “Look for the thing!” (more than 5 million downloads).
Secondly, the Taiwanese XPEC. The total portfolio of its subsidiary studios includes more than 500 games and applications. Among the more or less popular ones is Baby Pet Vet Doctor, which has gained more than 10 million installations on Google Play. But, in general, the company works “with the world on a thread.”

In the top ten leading companies in terms of box office receipts, the situation is a little more interesting. Of course, the first three — Supercell, King, GugHo — are still in the lead, but a little lower you can see how the Japanese mixi, the author of Monster Strike, is getting to the Top 3, through the position the Korean one is gradually earning points Netmarble (MARVEL Future Fight), and Machine Zone is rolling down.

Hits of March
Analysts of App Annie explain the success of Netmarble with an excellent start on Google Play of the South Korean role—playing action Raven, which visually resembles Lineage 2 very much, although in gameplay it is another variation of Dungeon Hunter.

By the way, pay attention to the video of the game — Western developers have not yet started making such beauty for mobile phones.
On the App Store, in turn, for the first time, a project from the Chinese Duoyi entered the world box office top ten games. We are talking about the Shenwu MMO game with a turn-based action game, vaguely reminiscent of the Disciples screenshots. By the way, it is unlikely to reach the Western market: it is too visually specific and archaic.

According to downloads in March, Mr. Jump from the French 1Button and aa from General Adaptive Apps showed themselves perfectly. These projects have once again demonstrated that gaming minimalism is still very relevant for the industry (at least for the Western market).
