Niantic’s Pokemon game revenues have grown significantly since its release in Japan. The total downloads of the game have also grown seriously recently. According to various estimates, they range from 60 million to 75 million.

“Last weekend we saw that users spend more than $5 million on the game every day.

A significant part of the amount comes from Japan,” said Fabien-Pierre Nicolas, vice president of marketing at App Annie.

Despite the fact that the game was launched in the Land of the Rising Sun only last Friday, it already brings about the same money from this region as from the USA. Both versions (Japanese and American) are currently responsible for 80% of Pokémon GO’s worldwide revenue.

At the moment, every fourth iOS user in Japan plays Pokémon GO. For comparison, every tenth smartphone user in America launches a game every day.

The total estimates of Pokémon GO, according to App Annie, have now surpassed the mark of 60 million downloads. Analysts of another service – Sensor Tower – believe that the figure is higher: 75 million. Moreover, according to their data, the game took only 19 days to overcome the mark of 50 million downloads on Google Play alone. Sensor Tower claims that no application has ever managed to gain so many downloads in such a short time on the Android platform before. Other mobile hits previously had to spend much more time on this. For example, Candy Crush Jelly Saga took more than three months to reach the mark of 50 million downloads on Google Play.

By the way, Apple does not disclose data on the download of Pokémon GO, but has stated to a number of Western publications that the game has set a record for downloads in the first seven days since its release. Previously, no application has gained such a number of installs on the App Store so quickly.
