Over the year, the number of downloads from Google Play has grown 1.3 times, and the platform’s revenue has increased 1.4 times, App Annie reports in its latest research.
Downloads
Installations from Google Play in the first quarter of 2015 increased by about 30% compared to the 1st quarter of last year.
However, most of the downloads still account for the USA, where the growth dynamics is small, unlike Brazil, which showed an almost twofold increase in downloads. India, Russia and Mexico also performed well.

The main part of the world’s downloads (about 40%) falls on games.
Income
As for the revenues of the official Android app store, they have also grown significantly – by 40%.
Japan, the USA and South Korea bring the most to Google’s cash register. Moreover, their incomes are simply disproportionately higher than those of other countries. Interestingly, the States show excellent dynamics here

Games continue to earn the most on the platform. And if the revenues from them are growing (by an impressive 50%), then the revenues from other applications are not.
Activity
At the same time, it’s funny that in terms of the amount of time Android users spend on applications, the gaming category is far from the leader.
