The App Annie resource has published the November results of the mobile games market. We share them with you.
Leading companiesThe top most popular companies have undergone interesting changes this month.
King came out on top in downloads, pushing EA and Gameloft, and it’s not surprising: two games of the company occupy leading positions in the number of downloads at once.
Ketchapp Studio jumped ten points up thanks to the successful release of Stick Hero. But this is not the limit: Doodle Mobile has risen by fourteen positions – also on the wave of the successful launch of its Bike Racing 3D title.
The top in terms of revenue looks much calmer. Almost everyone has retained their places, except Tencent – it has risen, and COLOPL, Machine Zone and Electronic Arts, which have dropped one point down.
World hits of NovemberThe situation with the most popular world games in November, admittedly, did not change dramatically.
Candy Crush Saga from King lost ground and moved from first place to second, but only to free up the pedestal for another of his projects – Candy Crush Soda Saga. The game based on the famous “candy” match-3 confidently leads the world charts.
King noted, by the way, that she considers Candy Crush Soda Saga to be more of a “sister” of Candy Crush Saga than a sequel, and promised that she would release updates to both games.
Subway Surfers has lost one point in the ratings, but is still in the top five. But the number of Clash of Clans downloads decreased a little more noticeably. The game moved from the fourth place to the sixth.
Stick Hero from Ketchapp Studio debuted immediately in fourth place.
Instead of Cars: Fast as Lighting, there is now another racer in the world top – Bike Racing 3D from the Chinese Doodle Mobile team. He is ranked eighth.
The last place in the top ten for the second month in a row remains for Temple Run 2 from Imangi, and even the advertising that the company received from the release of its first title for VR helmets could not significantly change the alignment.
World top by revenue In the top of the most profitable world titles – the same stability.
Clash of Clans still reigns unconditionally at the top, just behind it, as last month – Puzzle and Dragons. Candy Crush Saga has swapped places with Monster Strike and is ranked fourth, not third, as in October.
On the ninth and tenth places – new names of the world’s top: Everybody’s Marble (LINE and Tencent) and The White Cat Project (COLOPL). The latter got into the ratings as expected – in the first couple of months from the start, it gained popularity at a rapid pace.
App Store Leaders There are a lot of “newcomers” in the November top of the App Store.
In the first place, predictably, was a new project from King – Candy Crush Soda Saga. At the same time, Candy Crush Saga itself managed to maintain its position and remain in the same, fifth place.
King are not the only ones who managed to play a card with the continuation of the popular game. Glu Mobile got into the top with Contract Killer: Sniper, is the fifth tile in the Contract Killer series of games. Immediately after the launch, the project from Glu was featured on the main page of the App Store and then appeared in the tops of the electronic store (the game, however, did not reach significant places in terms of downloads and revenue in the world).
In the second and third places of the top App Store – again “newcomers”: Stick Hero from Ketchapp Studio and Dumb Ways to Die 2 from Metro Trains.
(Stick Hero got into the world top iOS and Google, as mentioned above).
It should be noted that the first part of Dumb Ways to Die has already argued with Candy Crush Saga for the first places in the ratings. For several months since its release, it has not left the top of the most downloaded games in America. Recall that the game is, in fact, an interactive social video promoting safe behavior in public transport. At first, it was not only free, but also did not contain IAP.
The sequel Dumb Ways to Die started in the second half of November, and soared to the top of the iOS charts in a matter of days. The iPad version of the game took the first place in downloads in 80 countries.
Interestingly, Dumb Ways to Die 2 still includes reminders about safety on railway tracks.
Wind Travel is in fourth place. The endless runner from the Chinese company Tencent was released at the end of October. Analysts from App Annie believe that the title was launched with an eye to the audience of the company’s messengers – WeChat and Mobile QQ. The combination of simple gameplay and a character leveling system will help the company attract and retain that solid part of users who have not yet had time to get interested in mobile games.
On the seventh is an indie novelty from Yodo1 and HIPSTER WHALE called Crossy Road, which we already mentioned a little earlier.
The surprise was the fall of EA with the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team title: it dropped from the second to the tenth position at once.
In terms of revenue – again – everything is the same as before: Clash of Clans and Puzzle and Dragons remain the most profitable (we think if something changes in this sense, we will write about it under the heading “Urgent to the room!”).
These are the results of November – nothing sensational, but there is something to look at and think about.
