Magic Leap One augmented reality glasses are taking the first steps towards becoming a gaming platform. A month after the release of the device, it became known that he would have his first game. This fall, a special version of Angry Birds will be released for MR glasses.
According to TechCrunch, this is not a demonstration of the technical capabilities of the new platform, but a full-fledged game. However, Angry Birds FPS: First Person Slingshot cannot be called a large-scale project either. The game contains only 20 levels.

The essence of the gameplay is the same.
The player throws birds at various constructions to kill pigs. The key difference of the novelty is a change of perspective. Now the player throws birds in the first person. To shoot, the user must pull the hand with the controller back, as if pulling the elastic band of the slingshot.
The structures themselves are embedded in the real environment. In other words, the tower with pigs will not be suspended in a closed virtual space, as in the case of VR games, but will be located, for example, on the table in front of the player.
The game was developed by two studios. Finnish Rovio and Resolution Games, specializing in mixed reality games, founded Tommy Palm, author of the mobile version of Candy Crush Saga.

According to the representatives of Resolution Games, before working with Magic Leap One, they experimented with HoloLens, a similar Microsoft device.
The disadvantage of the latter was the absence of a tracking position in the controller space. Magic Leap One has it and this opens up the opportunity to develop full-fledged games for it. But there is no market yet.
Recall that before the release of Magic Leap One, they were primarily famous for an excellent marketing campaign and the size of the attracted investments ($ 2.3 billion).
