Last Tuesday, Amazon announced a partnership with the British independent game studio Glowmade. The developers are planning an online cooperative game, but there are no details yet.
Amazon does not disclose details of the collaboration, as well as specific information about the new project. But Glowmade themselves describe the future game as a mixture of the movie “Labyrinth” (1986) and the show “Wrestlemania”.
“Glowmade is a team of experienced developers with enough creativity and experience to make games that gamers will love,” said Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games.
Glowmade has been in existence since 2015 and is located in Guildford, England. At the moment, the team consists of 30 people and is gradually replenished with new specialists.
Collaboration with Glowmade is not the first in Amazon’s publishing portfolio. In August 2020, the company announced an exclusive publishing agreement with the Korean developer Smilegate RPG: together they worked on the MMORPG Lost Ark. The online game is already available in North America, Europe and Russia.
Amazon also has its own game projects – both successful and not so successful. App2Top has already written about the cancellation of the Crucible shooter in October 2020, which received quite mixed reviews. But MMORPG New World topped the list of the best-selling games on Steam in July 2021.
