Amazon has allowed the gift of virtual currency.
Amazon Coins virtual currency allows you to buy games, apps and IAP. Now the coins can be used as a gift.
To do this, you need to purchase a set of Coins and send them to a friend. The recipient learns about their receipt via his email.
Pushing users to use Amazon Coins, Amazon has provided discounts of up to 20% on their purchase, which will last until January 5.
“Finding the perfect gift during the holidays is not an easy task. We simplified it by offering the opportunity to give playing children or app–savvy friends and family members just what they need – cool apps and games that they can install on their phones and tablets,” said Mike George, Amazon vice president of apps and Games.
Amazon launched its own virtual currency in the US back in May of this year. At the end of November, Coins became available to residents of the UK and Germany.
