Louis Castle, a former co—founder of Westwood Studios, has been appointed head of the gaming division of the American corporation Amazon in Seattle.
Behind Castle has worked on more than a hundred projects throughout his career, including the Command & Conquer series, Blade Runner, and others. Winner of the BAFTA Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Game Developers Conference.
At Amazon, Castle will lead the work on a new Crucible multiplayer action game focused on streaming matches. According to Lewis, he is excited about his appointment and can’t wait to start using various streaming platforms to “create an amazing new experience for players and viewers.”
Amazon has been attracting well-known game designers to its staff since last year. A month before Castle’s appointment, former Electronic Arts creative director Richard Hilleman and Everquest creator John Smedley joined the Amazon Game Studios team in San Diego.
