Independent studio Twyngo announced that their first iOS project, the Amazing Ants game, has surpassed the 1 million install mark since its launch on January 10.
The project is something like a reinterpretation of the classic Lemmings series of games, only this time we are not saving creatures (in this case, ants), but helping them get out of the level by collecting all the berries on it.
At the moment, Amazing Ants, distributed for free, has 1.3 million downloads. It occupies the seventh position in the top of free apps on the American App Store for iPad. Last weekend she was in second place in it.
The founder of the studio Unni Narayanan (Unni Narayanan) told our colleagues from Inside Mobile Apps that he believes in the great potential of his project and in the availability of huge opportunities in the mobile market.
“We are pursuing the same audiences as Angry Birds and Cut the Rope,” Narayanan stressed. – “And the reason why our game resonates is that this extremely wide audience likes the cartoon style, but at the same time they want new mechanics. That’s what we offer them.”
Amazing Ants by Twyngo is the second project published by the Pocket Gems development office. The guys took up publishing only in December 2012, when they published the Chasing Yello game on Android, created within the walls of dreamfab.
