Activision Blizzard has announced its intention to move all of its major franchises to mobile devices. This was influenced by the success of Call of Duty: Mobile, which earned $480 million in its first year. The company’s executives announced their plans during a conversation with investors, which traditionally took place after the publication of the quarterly report.

“We need to make our franchises available on billions of active mobile devices. This is a great opportunity for us. And we are already investing in making money in this market and eventually transferring all our franchises to mobile,” said Daniel Alegre, the company’s chief operating officer.

In its premiere year, Call of Duty: Mobile generated more than 300 million installations, earning almost half a billion dollars. As a result, the mobile shooter has become one of the most successful projects of Activision Blizzard.

The company plans to release the project in China, where the game has already received permission from the government and attracted 50 million pre-registrations. “China will be able to make a significant contribution to the total revenue of the entire franchise,” said Activision President Rob Kostich.

Now the company is also working on the mobile Diablo Immortal, which Blizzard is creating together with NetEase. It is quite possible that Activision will soon announce mobile projects for its other brands.
