In early November, the PushApp team launched the CheckASO service. It allows you to see the ASO level of any mobile application, and also provides a comparative analysis with the nearest competitors.
What does the service do?
The user enters the name of any application. CheckASO parses the App Store and Google Play in real time. As a result of parsing, the service provides a detailed assessment of the ASO of the application according to six parameters:
- keywords;
- title;
- short description;
- full description;
- rating and reviews;
- fullness of the profile.
At every moment, the service automatically analyzes and explains what is good in ASO, and what needs improvement.
Also, based on the results of the analysis, CheckASO conducts a comparative analysis of the optimization of the application with the closest projects. For comparison, those applications that compete for traffic with an application selected by the same keywords are selected.
How much is it?
Now the service is free. You can go to the website, type in the name of any application and see who has any problems with ASO. However, some of the functions of CheckASO (for example, the ability to view all the keys of a particular application) require a minimum of registration on another service of the company — my.pushapp.
Does it make sense to listen?
It’s difficult to talk here yet. Even with store hits, the service rarely shows an optimization rating above eight points. Although there are exceptions.
In addition, the service can confuse how it evaluates the rating of the application. For example, the iOS versions of Pixel Gun 3D: Battle Royale and CharmFarm have the same rating in the App Store – 4.5. However, in the first case CheckASO shows 8 points in the “Ratings and reviews” column, and in the second — 3.7 points.
The latter is explained by the fact that the service takes into account not only the rating, but also how many people put it up.
“Here, the ASO index takes into account how long the assessment was formed, what semantics the reviews have and not only. It is important how many ratings the application has: the CharmFarm game has very few of them (so far 13 pieces), while Pixel Gun 3D: Battle Royale has 24 thousand ratings,” Alexander Ursul, editor of PushApp, explained to us.
***
The main and most noticeable disadvantage of CheckASO now (at least in the free version) is the inability to choose the ASO language.
