The blockchain store from Brian Fargo has already attracted 22 publishers.
Robot Cache is working on attracting large publishers to have both AAA projects and indie games on the pages of the store. 1C Publishing, Devolver Digital have recently joined the store, Imgn.pro and Libredia and several other publishers who have 700 games in total. Also, 505 Games, inXile Entertainment, Microids, Paradox Interactive, THQ Nordic, Versus Evil, etc. will appear in the store.
The company also announced the launch of a partner service for online registration of publishers. With its help, the publisher can independently submit his game for approval and publication in the store. There he will be able to manage sales and reporting.
The Robot Cache store will be opened next year in early access mode. The company will take only 5% from the sales of games in its store. This is at the very time when the recently launched Epic Games Store takes 12%, and Steam and a few more stores – generally 30%.
In addition, store users will be allowed to resell games from their digital library. Such deals will be beneficial not only to gamers themselves, but also to game creators. With a secondary sale, 70% of the revenue will be received by the publisher, 25% by the user. The store will take the same 5%.
Resales of games happen all the time, publishers do not get anything, but gamers earn. Some users want to monetize their digital library. They can play the game for a few months and then sell it. So they can buy even more games.
