Today Epic Games has launched its own store — Epic Games Store. Sergey Galenkin, the creator of the Steam Spy service, participated in its development.
The Epic Games Store already has pages of several titles: Fortnite from Epic Games themselves, an exclusive PC version of Journey, Darksiders III, Hades from the authors of Transistor (still in early access), Ashen and others. A number of projects have not yet specified a release date in the Epic Games Store.
In addition, every two weeks throughout 2019, the store will distribute a game for free. You can already get an early version of Unreal Tournament, and soon — Subnautica (free on December 14-27) and Super Meat Boy (free from December 28 to January 10).
Recall that Epic Games announced the site three days ago. The store’s share of title sales will be 12%. This is lower than on Steam. Thanks to the Epic Games Support-A-Creator service, developers will be able to share with bloggers the revenue that the users they bring.
The company also promised that there will be no advertising of third-party products, including similar titles, on the pages of the games.
