The monthly audience of players in Russia is 43 million people,” the company said in its latest research Mail.Ru Group.
The main gaming platforms in Russia are PCs and smart mobile devices (smartphones, tablets). They are played by 61% and 57% of players, respectively. Only 12% of players spend their free time on consoles.
As in the USA, men and women are generally equally among the players. The difference is literally a couple of percent.
Curiously, the similarity with American users does not end there. In Russia, as in the USA, the largest share of desktop players are people over 45 years old. They are followed by a third of the entire Russian PC audience. As for mobile, its players, on average, are much younger.
The largest number of players are among “workers”, “employees and office workers”, as well as “schoolchildren and students”. These are the dominant social groups of players. There are very few players among the “directors” — 2%. Among department heads — 10%, among pensioners — 9%.
Only 18% of Russian players can be called paying in F2P projects. The rest either never paid, or do not pay in principle.
Moreover, within the PC platform, the paying audience is much larger – 43%.
