Event of the Year

The purchase of King by Activision Blizzard. I don’t know how pivotal this event is, but such a large merger cannot do without consequences for the market.

Trend of the year

Asian Games are increasingly flashing in the box office tops in the West. The global success of the Korean Summoners War is particularly impressive. I think the trend will only intensify next year. There are a lot of original interesting games in Asia, especially in the now popular midcore segment. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them appear on the global market. At the same time, interest will increase in the opposite direction, for sure many Western developers will somehow rethink the hits of the Asian market.

 Summoners WarAchievement of the Year

Awem’s success with the Cradle of Empires project. Not that I’m surprised, the guys know their stuff. Nevertheless, the success is really impressive, the game is very high in the tops. A great example of how you can use the experience of developing downloadable games to make a successful free-to-play game.

Cradle of EmpiresDisappointment of the Year

I don’t remember any disappointments that could be noted. Maybe he just didn’t expect anything special. The only thing is, this is the first year when I didn’t buy any new items from Apple. Apple Watch, iPad Pro, new TV and iPhone 6S for some reason did not prompt any desire to buy them at all.

Game of the Year

In my personal top, this is Gummy Drop. I am sure that this is generally the defining game for next year in its genre. Well, in general, this is probably now the most commercially successful game on the mobile market, made by developers from Russia.

Gummy DropA year for you/for the company

The central event of the outgoing year for Playrix was the recent release of our mobile free-to-play game Fishdom: Deep Dive. We also managed to strengthen Township’s position, and now the company has two mobile hits on its hands: Fishdom and Township.
