A mobile game based on the Futurama TV series is in development. The development is led by the authors of Diamond Dash and Jelly Splash – Germans from Wooga.
The name of the game will be FUTURAMA: Game of Drone. According to the official press release, the player will take command of the Planet Express team as part of a trade standoff with MomCo. Delivering dangerous goods to equally dangerous planets, the player will link groups of robot messengers to each other to solve “terrible puzzles”.
The plot for the game is written by Dave Grossman, responsible for The Secret of Monkey Island and The Wolf Among Us, Jonathan Myers, who wrote the script for Game of Thrones: Ascent, as well as Patrick M. Verrone, who worked on the original series.
As you can see, based on all this, it is very difficult to understand exactly what the game will be. Builder? A puzzle? A quest?
It is not known how long Wooga has been working on an IP game owned by Fox Digital Entertainment. How long to wait before the release – too.
