Six years after the release of the original Angry Birds, the Finnish company Rovio presented the first sequel to the game.
“Angry birds” appeared on mobile devices in 2009. Since that moment, Rovio has released 14 projects, in the name of which the phrase Angry Birds was somehow played out. Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Space, Angry Birds Star Wars and even Angry Birds Transformers came out – a crossover with the Transformers franchise. But there was no official continuation of the main project. Until today.
In Angry Birds 2, the principle of shooting at targets with a slingshot has been preserved. The visual style and partly the gameplay have been reworked. The graphics have become three-dimensional. The game has a hard currency, a measure of energy, bosses and elements of a card fight. Added the ability to change birds at your discretion.
The level map has completely changed: players no longer choose from static lists, but travel through bird country in pursuit of pigs who stole eggs.
The title characters – birds Red, Chuck, Bomb, King of Pigs – remained. Red, the red bird, who in six years has become the “face” of the franchise, finally got her own superpowers. A new character has appeared – Silver, raised by pigs.
Perhaps the most significant change is the appearance of the arena in the game. Players got the opportunity to fight among themselves. The opponent is chosen from Facebook friends or randomly from other users of the social network who have logged into the game through their account.
The game is available in both the App Store and Google Play.
Let’s add that the game was launched on iOS in March. Rovio tested the title in the Canadian App Store. There the game was called Angry Birds Under Pigstruction.
