The British from Rodeo Games, noted on the mobile market not only with a strong Hunters series, but also with an excellent turn-based RPG Warhammer Quest, announced a new project.

Авторы Hunters делают пошаговую тактику в мире Warhammer 40 тысяч на движке Unreal Engine 4

The presented game does not differ in the short name – Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch: Tyranid Invasion. As you can understand by name, the action in it will unfold in the popular universe of the Games Workshop company. The user will take under his leadership an elite secret squad of space marines who will have to fight the tyranids.

The novelty is announced as a turn-based strategy game. In other words, those who have played Hunters and Warhammer Quest should not expect surprises from the gameplay. However, this time the developers said that the game camera will not be rigidly fixed over the battlefield, as it was before. Thanks to the team’s transition to Unreal Engine 4, the new project is being done with the expectation that players will be able to put the camera the way they want (although, judging by the first screenshots, it is clear that it will be most convenient to play “the old-fashioned way”).

Deathwatch will be distributed as a paid application. It plans to support multiplayer. The game is scheduled for release this summer.

I would like to add that the democratic policy of Games Workshop has led to the fact that the number of new projects in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is already approaching the top ten today. On the one hand, most of them are poorly made (although, of course, there are exceptions), which reduces brand loyalty from the mass audience. On the other hand, firstly, there are exceptions (to which, we are sure, the Rodeo Games project will also apply), and secondly, such a policy, coupled with free access to leading game engines, makes it possible for a young talented team to “shoot”. For this reason, it seems wrong to evaluate the situation around Warhammer 40,000 from the negative side.
