The tactical game Syrian Warfare by the Moscow studio Cats Who Play is available again on Steam. It was removed from the store on March 1 after a complaint to the Valve service about copyright infringement.

As Vitaly Shutov, a member of the development team, told App2Top, Cats Who Play filed an appeal to Steam and offered to continue the proceedings in court. At the same time, the author of the complaint disappeared and stopped contacting.

“When, according to the law, the waiting time for our counterclaim ran out, Steam had to turn us back on,” Shutov summed up.

“Syrian Warfare”, also known as Syria: Russian Storm is dedicated to the civil war on the territory of the Middle Eastern state. The game scored 89% percent of positive reviews on Steam. However, its creators faced criticism — opponents of the project accused them of political bias and a desire to use international attention to the Syrian conflict to promote their product.
