Independent developer David Murray funded the creation of a retro strategy Planet X3 using the Kickstater platform, collecting the required $ 30 thousand in a few hours. Two days later, the campaign budget doubled the original goal and reached $70 thousand.

Planet X3 is stylized as titles of the early 80s for the MS DOS operating environment. The game is made in CGA graphics with a palette of 4 and 16 colors to choose from, and control is carried out only from the keyboard.

Also, Planet X3 does work in DOS. According to Murray himself, the game will run even on antique IBM-compatible PCs with x286 generation processors.

David Murray himself is well known in the circles of fans of old software and vintage computer equipment under the nickname 8-Bit Guy. About 700 thousand people have subscribed to his YouTube channel.

Planet X3 is not Murray’s first game. Last December, he released the Planet X2 strategy for the Commodore 64 system, which was distributed on 3.5-inch floppy disks.
