According to Steam statistics, the number of active players in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (RE7) decreased from 15 to 1.5 thousand in a month.
The situation is typical for many projects designed for a single passage on Steam. In the case of the seventh part of the zombie saga, most gamers did not return to the game after the first meeting of the main character with the Baker family, or after the completion of the final act of Resident Evil 7.
Trying to keep the audience, Capcom offered a season ticket for $30, but it didn’t help. Despite the DLC “Banned Footage” from February 21, the number of players playing in RE7 dropped even more. Capcom expects to bring players back with the free “Not a hero” add-on, which will be released in May this year. In addition to the new content, “Not a hero” will feature one of the main characters of the Resident Evil series — Chris Redfield.
After its release in January of this year, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard sold more than 3 million copies, received positive reviews from the gaming press and players and became the most successful game in the series in recent times — the number of players in RE7 doubled the best Resident Evil 6 recorded in 2013.
