Sales of physical copies of the MMO shooter Destiny 2 by Activision Blizzard at the end of the first month were 50% less than the original for the same period.
This is reported by the Wall Street edition with reference to the marketing data of the NPD company.
Activision Blizzard does not disclose the sales figures of Destiny 2. The console release of the game took place on September 6.
9 days after the release of Destiny 2, the company announced that the sequel surpassed the original’s figures in digital sales and user engagement during the launch week.
Wedbush Security analyst Michael Pachter suggested that Destiny 2’s total sales for the first month could be 40% lower than Destiny’s figures for the same period.
He explained this by the fact that some players decided to wait for the PC version of Destiny 2, which will be released on October 24.
