The monitoring company SuperData predicted the sale of 3 million copies of the Destiny 2 MMO shooter by Bungie studio on PC in the first 3 months after the release of the game.
“Destiny 2 sales at the start may be the most successful launch of a PC title since the release of Overwatch,” SuperData believes.
Together with the sales of the console versions of Destiny 2, the total circulation of the sold copies of the game is expected to be between 4 and 5 million copies.

When developing the forecast, SuperData correlated the popularity of the first part of Destiny with a similar indicator of other AAA titles launched at the same time as the Bungie game.
The study took into account: the chosen release date is the beginning of September, the impact of the release of the PC version on Battlenet (Destiny 2 will be the first third—party game on Blizzard’s multiplayer platform) and general trends in the digital download market.
