The success of GTA V lasts almost 5 years in a row. The Rockstar Games hit took third place in sales of physical copies in 15 European countries in 2017, second only to FIFA 18 and Call of Duty: WWII.
This is reported by the Dutch analytical company GfK. The rating is based on data on gaming retail sales in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
In these countries, GTA V was bought more willingly than a number of major releases of 2017, including such high-budget titles as Star Wars Battlefront II, Assassin’s Creed Origins and Destiny 2.
The attendance of the game continues to grow. According to Rockstar, in December last year, a record number of players were registered in the GTA Online multiplayer mode for the entire existence of the title.
Last year, the analytical firm NPD named GTA V the best-selling game on the US video game market for 22 years of observations, and SuperData recognized GTA V as the most profitable console game in history.
In total, since 2013, more than 85 million copies of GTA V have been shipped to stores around the world .
