Hamburg studio Daedalic announced that the iPad version of the Deponia game will be released in August this year.
The PC version of the game was released in 2012. Then, despite the very restrained assessments of critics, users met the hand-drawn adventure game, telling about the adventures of the hapless mechanic Rufus, cordially. On Steam, out of almost three thousand reviews, 2,700 are positive, the user rating of the game on Metacritic is 8.3 points.
The coldness of the press can be explained by a somewhat archaic approach to problems, whose solutions do not always seem logical to everyone. Twenty years ago, quests were forgiven for this. Today, judging by the fact that the gaming community was delighted with the colorful fairy tale, this is also forgiven, but only if you are not a critic.
Sales of the game, according to SteamSpy, are about 500 thousand.
The exact release date of the game on iOS in August is not yet known. The price of the game promises to be solid by mobile standards – $ 9.99. On Steam, the game costs the same. On GOG.com the game will cost you almost twice as much.
Whether Daedalic is going to bring the rest of the games in the series to the platform after Deponia is released on iOS is not reported.
