Blizzard will search for “toxic” gamers in Overwatch by videos on YouTube and other social media. Having identified a rude and aggressive player, the developer can restrict the operation of his account without waiting for a complaint from other players.
This was told by the head of the Overwatch project, Jeff Kaplan, in the next release of the Developer Update video blog on the game’s YouTube channel.
Blizzard has already added a system to the game that warns “toxic” gamers that their behavior has not gone unnoticed and threatens to block their account.
Another feature allows you to see how Blizzard reacted to the complaint.
According to Jeff Kaplan, after the introduction of these innovations, there were 17% fewer insults in game chats, and the number of messages about unpleasant behavior of other players increased by 20%.
A unit to combat the “toxic” behavior of players in Overwatch appeared in November last year.
With its help, Blizzard wants to maintain a friendly atmosphere in the Overwatch gaming community and provide its participants with a positive experience.
