The Chinese publisher Dragonest Game has announced the appearance of the original Auto Chess as an independent game on the desktop.
The story around Auto Chess, which started as a mod for Dota 2, is getting hotter. Today, as part of the PC Gaming Show, timed to coincide with E3, Dragonest CEO Loring Lee announced the appearance of the project on the virtual shelves of the Epic Game Store.
The novelty, like the original mod, is the development of Drodo Studio. This is the desktop version of the mobile Auto Chess. Both are self—contained games that do not depend on Dota 2 at the level of code, style or heroes.
The desktop version is developed on Unreal Engine 4. It is not yet known under what conditions it will be distributed (that is, whether it will be exclusive to the platform) in the Epic Game Store.
Recall that only from February to March inclusive, the mod increased the number of Dota 2 players by 23%. It has been downloaded by more than 7 million players. The mobile success of the project, which was officially released on June 5, so far comes down to only $ 100 thousand.
Earlier, Valve announced plans to make its own Auto Chess. Also today it became known that a similar project, only already for League of Legends, is being prepared by Riot Games.
