Ubisoft has decided to switch its main franchise to a service support model — the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will receive updates every week.

This was announced on the sidelines of E3 by the executive director of Ubisoft’s European division, Alan Corre (Alain Corre).

Alan did not give examples of updates, but assured that the game will be replenished with additional content for a very long time. According to Corr, it is titles that have been updated on a regular basis for years that are most loved by gamers.

Service support is one of the key elements of Ubisoft’s strategy to promote many of its games. For example, the upcoming Skull & Bones and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 are also designed for regular multi-year updates.
