Dong Nguyen, the creator of Flappy Bird, has split up. Less than a month after the release of his last project, he had already prepared the next one. The new game is called Swing Copters and, apparently, has not gone far from the original.
According to Eli Hodapp, our colleague from TouchArcade, who has already tried out the game, the novelty is not only similar to the original, but also much more complicated (get ready to buy new smartphones, guys!).
“You play as a man with a propeller on his head. You need to gently touch the screen, after which you will be picked up by a stream of air and carried up at high speed. Touching the screen changes the direction of flight. The goal is still the same: to fly through as many gates as possible, and get as high as possible. The gameplay is similar to Flappy Bird, but the hero does not fly to the side, but up,” writes Eli.
Swing Copters will be released on August 21. The game will be free, with the ability to disable ads for $ 0.99. As in Flappy Bird, advertising in the game is very modest, so it’s up to the user to decide whether or not to pay for its absence. We suggest thinking of it as a tip to Dong Nguyen, if, of course, you like what he does.
By the way, last week a game appeared in the App Store that somewhat resembles a novelty from Dong. It’s called Amazing Brik.

Dong Nguyen is a 28-year-old Vietnamese programmer, the author of the infamous Flappy Bird, who earned up to $50,000 a day at the peak of success on the sale of advertising inventory. Dong says he hasn’t spent a cent on promotion. Market analysts are sure that he just found a loophole in the top working in the App Store at that time.
