Epic Games’ Fortnite cooperative shooter has gathered 7 million players on all platforms thanks to the “Battle Royale” free-play mode, which started on September 26.

Clarification: earlier it was reported that 7 million people played Fortnite: Battle Royale, but Epic Games clarified that we are talking about all players in Fortnite as a whole.

In honor of this event, the developers added a team game in pairs and dropping supplies from the air to Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Fortnite: Battle Royale is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One as a separate Fortnite mode that does not require the original game.

Recall that on the day of release on September 26, more than 1 million people managed to play Fortnite: Battle Royale.

The authors of the currently most popular game in the genre of “battle royale” Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds from Bluehole studio criticized Epic Games for copying the gameplay of their project and using its popularity to promote Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Unlike Fortnite: Battle Royale, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is currently only available on PC. The Xbox version of the game should be released before the end of this year.
