Psyonix studio employees said that every day they ask Sony to allow owners of the PlayStation version of the Rocket League auto-action to play with users of other platforms.

Sony has not yet given Psyonix clear answers, repeatedly promising to consider these requests sometime later.

Psyonix Vice President Jeremy Dunham criticized Sony’s reclusion in cross-platform projects.

For example, the company justifies its unwillingness to cooperate with other gaming systems by taking care of young gamers who may be rude to users of other platforms, and Sony will not be able to intervene.

Jeremy Dunham pointed out that there is no voice chat in Rocket League, and players communicate using ready-made text templates.

“There are trolls on any platform. But we guarantee that in Rocket League they won’t be able to screw you up even if they want to,” Dunham said.

He also added that Sony had previously made cross-platform games possible. An example of this is DC Universe Online.

As it turned out at the last E3 exhibition, the version of Rocket League for Nintendo Switch will allow its owners to compete with players on PC and Xbox.
