A guideline for creating a comfortable and easily accessible game has appeared in the Microsoft hub. It can help creators of titles for both Xbox and other platforms.

The guideline covers such aspects of game design as sound, contrast, difficulty levels, UI interface, voice chat, and so on. There are 23 chapters in total. They contain recommendations, but not mandatory requirements. Microsoft has compiled a list of them with the help of industry experts.

Some recommendations are quite specific. For example, the text display guide specifies the appropriate font size for console and desktop games in 1080p or 4K. In the chapter “Contrast” — the contrast ratio for text elements.

Other tips are more general. Many are aimed at allowing users to customize the game for themselves. This applies, among other things, to difficulty levels, color indicators, as well as functions for players with disabilities.

Also, almost every chapter contains a list of useful tools and resources on the topic. You can read the entire list of recommendations here.
