The engine for developing cross-platform mobile applications Corona SDK will be distributed for free.
Information about this appeared on the official website of Corona Labs.
Until now, the basic version of the Corona SDK – Starter has been free. For money, you could buy Basic and Pro. They provided access to in-game purchases, improved graphics, and so on. Now all three versions of the Corona SDK – Starter, Basic and Pro – are combined into one free version called Observer. Its functionality, according to the creators, is like a Pro subscription.
The Corona Enterprise, CoronaCards iOS and CoronaCards Android versions remain paid.
The developer’s website states that those users who are already subscribers of Starter, Basic or Pro will have access to free subscription upgrades.
