He noted that it “will be difficult for him to simultaneously combine activities in the Wargaming company with active participation in the life of the party.”

And he makes a choice in favor of a political career.

Makarov does not say that he is completely leaving the game dev. He only notes that for some time he will focus “on the work of creating the party and its development.” About World of Tanks, he asks not to worry: “Everything will be fine with the Tanks, there is a great team there, don’t worry.”

Earlier, he said in an interview with Echo of Moscow that he was not going to go to parliament: “It is important for me that changes take place, but at the same time I would prefer to continue making games.”

The party does not have a specific political program. The key interest of the “Party of Direct Democracy” is the creation of an application that will allow elections and referendums to be held in Russia.

The first party congress is scheduled for March 5. Its organizing committee will include: Director of the Eurasian Communication Center Alexey Pilko, CEO of Unwired Devices Oleg Artamonov, ex-producer of LiveJournal Timofey Shevyakov and deputy head of the legal Department of Yandex.MoneyBoris Chigidin.

Makarov expects that the party will take part in the regional elections on September 13, 2020.
