A selection of gaming industry news for today: Talking Tom has already 4.5 billion downloads, Nintendo announces a retro console, Odnoklassniki launches an entertainment messenger.

On mobile platforms, the total downloads of Outfit7 series games about talking animals (Talking Tom, Talking Ginger, Talking Ben and others) have crossed the 4.5 billion mark. The MAU of the series is 250 million.

Outfit7 is not going to stop at this result. The company has released a new game that can potentially generate new downloads well – Tom Gold Run. This is a clone of Subway Surfers with a body kit and innovations. The latter, we recall, is the most downloaded game in the history of Google Play.

Nintendo has announced a new console. While we are not talking about the Nintendo NX, but a mini version of the NES (aka Famicom), released in Japan in 1983. The novelty will come with 30 classic titles (including Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Metroid). It will connect to the TV via HDMI. The release in Europe is November 11. The price of nostalgia is $59.99.

The Odnoklassniki social network has an OK Messages messenger in addition to the mobile application. Whether any gaming functionality will appear on it is not clear now. So far, as Anastasia Zhbanova, the head of the network’s press office, told us, Odnoklassniki is considering integration with various services and simply does not exclude the appearance of new functions. “The main functions that it already has and will have in the future are ways to convey emotions and a variety of entertainment tools,” Anastasia added.
