Major industrial events continue to be canceled due to the coronavirus. Blizzard announced that it will not hold an annual convention for BlizzCon players this year, which could presumably take place in November.
We argued a lot about what the event might look like in light of all the health and safety decisions we would like to make. We also talked a lot about the different ways we could choose, how each of them correlates with changes in national and local rules of events. In the end, after analyzing all the options, we came to a very difficult decision not to hold BlizzCon this year.

Instead, the company is going to hold an online event, which is likely to take place no earlier than the beginning of next year. It is also possible that Blizzard will support some major esports event this year as an alternative to the competitions held earlier as part of BlizzCon.
