Prague independent studio Beat Games has come under the control of Facebook. The amount of the transaction is not called.
The takeover was announced last night, November 26. Zuckerberg‘s company has announced that Beat Games is becoming part of Oculus Studios. However, it will continue to function in Prague as an independent unit.
It is reported that the purchase will not affect the further development of the main project of the studio — Beat Saber. The game will continue to receive updates for all VR platforms.
Exactly how the deal will affect the studio’s future projects is unclear. Facebook does not report anything about this. He only adds that he plans to make several announcements and releases in 2020.
Beat Games is an obvious purchase for a social platform. The studio has developed one of the most popular and commercially successful VR games. Beat Saber has sold 1 million copies (the cost of the game is $ 29.99 on American Steam).
