It is increasingly difficult for newcomers to the mobile games market to squeeze into a row with major publishers. This was stated by Jam City Vice President Jeremy Horn at Pocket Gamer Connects 2018 in Helsinki.

The market has changed little in a week. The main box office hits on the American market of mobile games for iPhone, iPad and Google Play remain Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, Minecraft and Rage of Bahamut.

We are returning to the weekly releases of reports on the situation in the American mobile application market. There are no unfamiliar or new names here, but there is a fierce struggle for users’ wallets.

There are two newcomers in the American box office top of iPhone games at once: Temple Run: Brave and Zynga Slots. In the top of gaming applications for iPad, there were also some updates: a fresh game from Wizards of the Coast – Magic 2013 showed itself well. But as for Google Play, everything is the same here.

One of the main events is, of course, the appearance of The Tribez HD in the second position in the top ten American box office games for iPad. As they say, they did not wait. No less interesting was the growth of the somewhat budget-looking Plague Inc. in the top box office games for iPhone, where now, by the way, you can find the Rage of Bahamut game, which still occupies first place in another…

The box office leaders have not changed for a long time. Over the past week, only one top – ten cash register applications for iPhone – has a “new face” that has never been “lit up” before – the role-playing MMO Haypi Dragon from the authors of Haypi Kingdom.

The American tops of the highest-grossing apps have changed little since the last report. As before, the ideological heirs of social projects and gambling continue to earn the most on mobile devices. Arcades and puzzles, that is, projects that recently seemed to be more suitable for smartphones and tablets, are almost not represented in the box office tops.

Kingdoms of Camelot, after a two-week pause, once again leads the top of the most profitable games on the iPhone; Angry Birds Space is descending down the “standings” lower and lower, while managing to gain 1 billion downloads; Smurfs’ Village after the update is in the top ten on all leading digital platforms.
