In Belgium and the Netherlands, CS players:GO banned from opening loot boxes

A new Steam update and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for Dutch and Belgian players have been released. Gamers are not allowed to open loot boxes on their own, but you are welcome to buy their contents in the Steam market.

Valve has suspended the sale of game items for CS:GO and Dota 2 in the Netherlands due to the law on loot boxes

Valve has disabled the ability to sell and exchange game items in online games Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 in the Netherlands. The reason was the country’s law prohibiting the circulation of virtual items that can be sold for real money or played as a prize in a gambling game with money bets.

The Netherlands is ready to ban Dota 2 and PUBG because of loot boxes

The Dutch authorities have ordered a number of developers to remove loot boxes from their games. Companies have 2 months to respond. If they do not comply with the requirements, they may be fined and even banned titles with loot boxes on the territory of the country.
