Analysts at Famitsu calculated that Nintendo Switch sales in Japan exceeded 32.9 million units. This allowed the portable console to set a new sales record in the country.

For the first time since its release in November 2020, the PS5 surpassed the Nintendo Switch in monthly sales in the Japanese market and became the best-selling console in February. According to Famitsu, over 366.9 thousand PS5S were sold in Japan last month — 457% more than a year ago.

According to Famitsu, physical sales of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet in Japan last week totaled an impressive 2.53 million copies. This is 96.3% of the sales of all games included in the weekly retail top 10.

According to Famitsu, in August, Japanese gamers bought 83 thousand cartridges with Nintendo Switch Sports.
