The analytical resource EEDAR analyzed 500 games from the US box office top for the 3rd quarter and claims that the price of the best-selling paid games lies in the range from $ 1.99 to $ 4.99.

The company in its research was looking for a pattern between the price, the commercial success of the game and the user rating. It turned out the following: the most profitable were expected to be free titles (they own more than 90% of the total revenue from games on iOS).

The company’s research covers the period from July 1 to September 30, 2014. The data for analysis – price, average rating and user rating – are taken from iTunes.
