Puzzles are becoming popular again. The monthly audience of 4 Pics 1 Word in March in the United States grew by almost a third, according to Onavo. Zynga’s What’s the Phrase also showed impressive growth. At the same time, the MAU of the second part of Temple Run has significantly decreased.
As part of its monthly review of “winners and losers” in the mobile application market, Onavo shared data on the dynamics of MAU of leading projects. The American base of Onavo iPhone users was taken for 100%. The statistics included a user who launched a certain application at least once a month.
According to the data presented, the MAU of the game 4 Pics 1 Word increased in March, compared to February, by 2% to 7%. EA’s free-to-play Real Racing 3 managed to grow from 0% to 3%. What’s the Phrase, also missing from the top apps that received the largest audience growth in February, took third place with 2% received.
In the top of the “losers” of the month is Temple Run 2, whose MAU in February was 14%, and by the end of March it decreased to 10%. Words With Friends had an equally significant drop: from 13% to just over 8%.
