Initially, the deadline for the sale of TikTok assets in the United States expired today, November 27. However, the country’s authorities gave ByteDance a one-week delay so that the company could have time to conclude the necessary deal.According to the new decision of the Administration of President Donald Trump, the deadline for the sale of TikTok’s American assets will expire on December 4.
This is reported by the Reuters edition with reference to the statement of the District of Columbia court.
Trump demanded the sale of the short video service on August 14, giving the company three months to do so. In November, the authorities extended the deadline for the execution of the order for another 15 days.
ByteDance has been negotiating the sale of TikTok shares with Oracle and Walmart for several months. It is assumed that they will receive a 20% stake in the new company TikTok Global, which was specially created to manage the American part of the business.
