The fate of the Chinese short video service will be decided in a couple of weeks. On November 4, a hearing will be held during which the US government will be able to appeal the court ban on the TikTok ban in American stores.

At the end of September, US federal judge Carl Nichols temporarily banned TikTok from being blocked in American stores, as required by the decree of President Donald Trump. But the authorities of the country did not agree with this decision and sent a complaint to the Court of Appeal.

According to Reuters, the second meeting will be held on November 4. There, Judge Nichols will hear the arguments of the White House and decide whether to remove the app from the App Store and Google Play. If the judge supports the government, TikTok will leave the stores on November 12.

The company ByteDance, which developed the application, has already requested a preliminary ban on the possible introduction of November restrictions.

Earlier, ByteDance created the TikTok Global organization to manage the American part of the business. 20% of the shares of the new company went to Oracle and Walmart — corporations from the USA. It was assumed that this deal would save TikTok from being banned, especially since Trump himself approved its concept.
