Today, in the format of a live audio broadcast, Apple reported its earnings.
In the entire history of the Apple App Store since 2008, developers have been paid more than $ 20 billion dollars. Of these, half of the amount falls only in the last year, and a quarter – in the last half of the year. That is, on average, now the company can pay developers almost up to $ 1 billion per month.
In general, in the third quarter of this year, Apple earned $37.4 billion, of which net profit is $7.7 billion. An interesting fact is that of this amount, less than a third of sales account for the territory of the United States. More than 59% of the company’s products were sold outside the American market. If measured in gadgets, then more than half of all revenue — and this is $ 19.75 billion — is accounted for only by the iPhone.
The next quarter promises to be even more profitable. According to forecasts, due to the release of the iWatch and iPhone 6, the company plans to reach $40 billion. I want to believe that along with the release of iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite, the share of developers will keep its growth from this tidy sum.
